Target Audience-Know who you are targeting

Just because you like your advertisements-whether they are posts, TV commercials, radio 30 second ads or fliers, doesn’t mean that they will appeal to your target audience.  Most often, you are not your own target audience!  Management teams sitting around viewing the most recent creation from the Marketing Department/Creative Agency are unlikely to produce the right type of feedback. Instead, define who your target audience is and test the advert on them, or even better, release it on a low scale and measure the results.  Be clear about who your target audience is, not just age, gender, economic factors but also whether they are shoppers, switchers or loyalists, existing or potential new clients and their geographic location among many other factors.  Know who you want to target, and find out from them if you are targeting them correctly.
