Sometimes a prospect will ask you “What are you trying to sell me?” A good response to this is: “I don’t want to sell you anything. People who I work with choose to buy from us.” You can then check in with the prospect to see that they are comfortable with the company you represent, you as the sales representative, and the product/service you represent.
