Apparel & Textiles sector needs to balance creativity with commercial reality
I work right across the apparel and textile industry spectrum, from design, cut/make/trim, outsourcing, store merchandising and layout to green fields set up. In this industry it is easy to get 'carried away' with what seems good while forgetting to keep commercial realities at the forefront. Margin and stock turn are important, as is ranging, sizing, and time to market. If the product is merchandised appropriately, or sold correctly, it doesn't generally sell.
